Day 12 - Namache - " A room with a view" !

You know it's cold when icicles start forming inside your room so it was with some reluctance that we finally exited our warm sleeping bags to ready for our acclimatization day in Namache (yep there's no such thing as a rest day!)

Opening our hotel door provided beautiful views of the nearby Mtn range and Namche.

After breakfast it was a steep one hour climb to the aptly named Everest Hotel at 3,880 meters with stunning views of the Himalayas and Everest itself

The hotel was the brainchild of some businessman that had thought flying Japanese tourists straight into Nanacne to stay at the hotel would be a good idea until a number started falling over due to improper acclimatization !

After 10 days trekking we were a little better prepared so were able to sit back with our guide and Porter and take in the magnificent views while supping on some hot lemon tea !

Overdosed on scenery we descended the same hill back into Namache for lunch happy that having gone high will prepare us well for tomorrows trek as we start to climb towards Everest Base Camp through this stunning landscape !

The afternoon was amazingly spent relaxing, charging batteries (yes you have to pay) walking around town and just laying around

Our highlight was catching up with our good friend Birbal who happened to be in Namche at the same time as us - Birbal was great company on our 2009 adventure and a motivating factor for our return to Nepal.

If anyone's looking for an individually guided tour of Nepal I can certainly put you on to the right person !
