It was another steep climb of 2 1/2 hours to yet another pass with fine valley views before descending towards lunch with our friendly English trekkers this time deciding to give the alcohol a miss !
Our following ascent (do you see a repeating theme here) took us towards Lukla and the main Everest valley. Narrow paths (yes with competing Yaks and muless) gave way to precipitous drops of over a 1,000 feet to the valley floor !
It was amazing to see the number of flights entering this narrow valley on their way to Lukla airport acknowledged as one of the most dangerous airports in the world and one which we will be flying out of in less than 2 weeks !
It was another of those horrid descents to our accommodation at Sukre on steep steps and stones made slippery by mud and Yak dung !
It was not helped by a number of Porter's who decided in carrying their heavy loads to rest right in the middle of the path requiring you to climb rocks to get around them and their loads
Our hotel room in Sukre accommodated our beds and just about nothing else - in the confined space the stench of our clothes and boots were overpowering to say the least !
Another fine Sherpa stew this time by torchlight with the Guest house suffering from a power
failure !
Yet another tiring day to add to the list !
